A CONNECTION to wild Africa

MOREWILD began with a simple belief: meaningful change takes time.

Our founder, Matt More, grew up with Africa as his classroom and her wild places as his greatest teachers. His family was deeply involved in the safari world, and from an early age he was privileged to witness how Africa had the ability to move people through the tiniest of interactions.

These moments passed in an instant and yet changed the perspective of all who witnessed them. Matt realised how safaris ignite a spark of fascination for the African wilderness. He imagined what a safari could do with more time... MOREWILD is that imagination made manifest and has been created to nurture and grow that initial spark, delving deeper into what makes wild Africa so potentially life-changing. 

MOREWILD experiences exist to give people the time and space to truly connect with Africa...To slow down, move to the rhythm of the land, and build a relationship that endures. When guests spend enough time in wild places, observing, understanding, and contributing, Africa begins to reveal herself. And with that revelation comes lasting change - in perspective, in perception, and in the way people view the world around them.

Meet Matt More

Founder, guide, and storyteller, Matt More has spent his life immersed in Africa’s wild places. Born in the Lowveld town of White River, Matt is a former professional rugby player turned guide, conservationist, and mentor, with his love for Africa rooted in two of South Africa’s most iconic wilderness areas - the vast expanses of the Greater Kruger National Park and the rugged landscapes of the Eastern Cape. 

Now he has created experiences that go beyond sightseeing, crafting journeys where knowledge-building and personal transformation are inseparable.

Matt’s vision is simple: slow down, listen, and give people the opportunity to really get to know Africa and all her myriad ways. Through carefully designed immersive experiences, he leads guests into the rhythms of nature and the stories of the land, fostering understanding, connection, and long-lasting impact.

For Matt, every journey is an invitation to see Africa not as a destination, but as a teacher, and to leave as a lifelong guardian of her wild spaces.

The first steps in our story

We have created a home base in South Africa’s Eastern Cape, where two global biodiversity hotspots meet and where ecological regeneration is possible. Here, land and sea, forest and river, the Big 5 and a wonderfully wild coastline exist side by side. At Kariega Game Reserve, guests immerse themselves in a story of wilderness restoration, protection, and meaningful impact. Guest don’t just observe Africa, they become part of her story.

MOREWILD is built to last beyond any single journey or founder. As the brand grows, the principles remain: small groups of curious travellers, immersive experiences, and deep engagement with people and planet.
